Teaching

I am a community tutor based in Leicester and Leicestershire and teach a variety of large and small scale projects, where the groups can work individually or collaborate on group pieces. Activities range from creating flower brooches, drawing self portraits and weaving on peg looms

to working on murals,

group collages, and

silk painted panels.

I have a real passion for teaching, and love seeing the new directions my groups take the projects in. I have been teaching part time for over 15 years, and have worked with a range of ages and abilities, from 5 to 85, and in a wide range of settings, from teaching individuals, in schools, art galleries and playschemes to community centres, adult education settings and colleges. I also offer activities to groups with disabilities and learning disabilities.

Projects and courses

Prices vary according to activities - please email me if you have a particular idea or project in mind, and we can discuss your requirements. My minimum booking is 2-3 sessions.

My most popular activities and courses are:

Silk Painting - the group can create individual pictures, or work together to create one large panel
Peg Loom Weavings - groups can create several weavings or combine to create one large one
Themed Collage - each person designs an element, which is then collaged together to make one large piece.
YOU - an eight session course exploring the many ways to create a self portrait - abstract or realistic. Painting, drawing, collage and printing are all taught in this course
Arts and crafts courses - ideal for playschemes and groups. Various activities are taught including fabric flowers, papermaking, paper beads and many more........
Printmaking courses - learn 3 different printmaking techniques - monoprinting, lino cutting and collographs
